POMPON BABY BLANKET
You will need :
· 1
x 200grams of contrast shade and 3 x 200grams of
main shade or
3 x 200grams if made in one colour.
· 3.75mm
(No. 9UK) knitting needles
Tension
4
pompoms across and 8 deep should give a tension of 10cm x 10cm.
Knit two stitches between each pompom, holding the pompom between the
index and
middle fingers each time.
METHOD
1. Using
the two needle method, cast on 58sts and in first shade, knit the first
stitch and place the first pompom.
2. Continue
in this way, placing pompoms after every odd numbered stitch so at the
end of the row, the same thread knits the last stitch of each row and
the first of te following row. There should be 29 pompoms across each
row.
3. Work
10cm.
4. Knit
10 stitches in first shade, 38 stitches in second shade and then 10
stitches in first shade. Twist the yarns together when changing from
one shade to another to prevent holes forming.
5. When
work measures 90cm change back to knitting all stitches in first
shade.
6. Work
another 10cm.
7.
When work measures
100cm cast off and sew in all ends.
